This past weekend I did two Chinese gender predictor tests and they both said 'boy.' At work one day my co-workers did her "very scientific" dime test which said 'girl.' Then I found another gender predictor on-line which said 'girl.' So now what should I think??
Well, back to the ultrasound....everything checked out great! Four chambers in the heart, three vessel cord, two good looking kidneys, bowel in the correct place, brain and spinal cord look fine and normal amount of amniotic fluid--all of the important things that we crazy NICU nurses need to know! And yes, it looked like there were ten fingers and ten toes too! Also, I think I saw my nose in the profile shot! ;o) We may have a tall/long child on our hands--all of the bones were measuring long! Crossing our fingers for a basketball player???
And finally at the very end the tech said, "you see these folds...it's a GIRL!" She had been looking the whole ultrasound and it was very conclusive when she got a total butt shot of our baby girl! (The doctor also agreed!)
Here's the 'GIRL!' announcement!
And a profile shot
We have more pictures on a CD because our ultrasound machine was out of paper so I'll be putting more on later.
We are very excited! She will be the first granddaughter on both sides of the family. We live in a neighborhood of little girls. And of course eventually I would have loved to have a girl, now I just get one right away!
We will be keeping her name a secret--right now it's not a secret--we don't have any that we agree on! We'll probably have a few options because I really think you have to see your baby to make sure the name fits. I say that we are keeping it a secret because we need to have somewhat of a surprise on delivery day, but we are open to suggestions...
That was our exciting day yesterday! Today I am 19 weeks (almost half-way there)! Feeling great and just trying to get things done before our little one arrives!
