First, we celebrated Christmas Eve at my parents' house. We did the annual trip to Arnie's in the afternoon and came home for soup and presents in the evening.
Maggie and Great Grandma Betty on Christmas Eve
Super excited with present opening! (Maggie's sleeping!)
Christmas Day we opened presents at our house then went to Dave's parents' house for Christmas Day dinner.
Our family at our house
Grandma and Grandpa Weckman (they came over to babysit so Dave and I could go to church Christmas morning)
Time for more presents!
The day after Christmas we celebrated with the Mendens at my Grandma's house and Monday we took a road trip (in our new SUV--a Mazda CX-9--my Jetta was in need of costly repairs so it was traded in on December 23rd...Merry Christmas to us!!) to Decorah, Iowa to see Dave's aunt and uncle, Mary and Jim. Maggie was a very good road tripper! She slept almost the whole way there (3 hours)! We spent a few hours visiting and then had to head back. Yet again, Maggie was an excellent traveler! She slept until we hit Rochester, where we stopped in at my brother and sister-in-law's for dinner (and a car seat break for Maggie). Then she slept again the whole way home--I guess she's liking her car seat better these days! ;o)
Maggie with Grandma and Grandpa Wenthold (Her shirt says "I'm a Hawkeye, Just like my Grandpa" which was given to her by Mary and Jim)
On top of Christmas, Maggie turned 3 months old a few days later! We had her 3 month photo shoot at my friend Alison's (see the previous post for pictures) and opened her first savings account!
Yes, it's been busy, but so much fun! Sad that my maternity leave is coming to an end :o( I'm just enjoying my last full week at home with our little girl. I know my mom is excited to take care of her when I go back to work, but I'll miss not being there for everything! This week she is so close to rolling over--from her back to stomach! She gets up onto her side and starts to teeter over, but she hasn't quite figured out how to get her arm out of the way!
