Wenthold Family: 9 Months Old Today!

And here are the stats from her 9 month check-up:

Weight: 20 lbs. 13 oz. (55th percentile)
Height: 28.6 in. (63rd percentile)
Head Circumference: 18.2 in. (76th percentile)

Only one shot and a finger poke to check her hemoglobin--she hated both and let me know it! I couldn't even put her down to get her dressed when it was all done! The good thing is that she quickly forgets all of it.

What Maggie's been up to:

*Her most favorite thing right now is peekaboo! She absolutely loves it! And you are guaranteed a smile and giggle! Maggie thinks you are always playing peekaboo with her--I've been out shopping a few times now and I'll bend down to get something off a lower shelf and come back up to put it in the cart and Maggie's giggling at me. And if I do it again, I get an even bigger baby belly laugh!! She had another customer in Cub today laughing too!

*We keep trying new table foods with her and she loves almost everything we give her: crackers, cheese, potatoes, noodles/pasta, French fries, cake--I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of for now. She likes to be fed off of our silverware, but will also pick things up off of her tray to eat too.

*Maggie loves to "talk"! And she is loud!! She says lots of repetitive sounds, mostly "mamamama", "nananana", and "lalalala." Lots of "ahhhhs" that usually crescendo to a screech or yell!

*Everything is a "button" to Maggie. She pushes on everything thinking that it's a button to turn on a toy that makes sounds! It's funny--she pushes on circle designs on fabric, toenails (especially painted ones), eyes on toys, etc. I guess we have to give her some toys that don't make noise!

*I noticed last week that Maggie is getting three teeth on top! Yes, only three--one middle one and the two next to her middle teeth. She might look like she has fangs soon! :o) She hasn't been crabby at all with these new teeth.

*Since Maggie was only a few months old every time we stood in front of a mirror I would wave to her. She started waving on her own a few months ago, but now will do it when I say wave "hi." She gets a huge smile on her face and waves her whole arm up and down. It can still be hit or miss with the waving, but it's super cute when she does it! (We're working on "bye-bye" now too.)

*Within the past month Maggie has been in motion!! No longer can I set her in the middle of the room to play and expect to come back and find her in the same spot! She has been rolling and scooting all over. Within the past two weeks she's learned to go from laying to sitting and she's crawling! It seems that she just gets faster every day! Her favorite though is to crawl on her hands and feet! Maggie loves to "walk" with our help and stand against things especially her activity table. She's been trying to pull herself up on everything so we made the big move last week and dropped her crib mattress--she's growing up way too fast!!

I think that's a pretty good summary of our busy girl! She's just so much fun--I would love to freeze her at this age forever! We had her 9 month photo shoot with my friend, Alison, last Sunday so we should be getting those pictures soon. And we're heading to my parents' cabin this weekend for the 4th so we'll have plenty of pictures to post!
