*Maggie just goes, goes, goes all day long! She would totally skip her naps if we let her! She is constantly on the move between toys and wherever we are in the house. Maggie likes to run circles around the couch and be "chased" by either one of us.
*It's amazing how much she understands, but will only say three words!! Her words are "mama," "dada" and "ow" and she'll usually only say them when prompted. But tell her we are going to go "bye bye" and she should go get her coat and she'll start waving frantically while walking to go and get her coat! We can tell her to go and get one of her favorite toys or books and she'll go to the playroom, get it and come back with it! She waves "hi" and "bye" when asked, she'll show you her belly and belly button and she's working on blowing kisses (we have the hand to the mouth part down, but not the blowing of the kiss yet)!
*Signing--she signs for "more" all the time! Especially her favorite snacks! We just started working on the sign for "water" because we learned it at ECFE class.
*Maggie is becoming a true toddler with eating--sometimes she can't get enough and sometimes she wants almost nothing! But we made progress with drinking milk from a sippy cup--she finally will! I gave her a sippy with a straw one night and within a few minutes she had the straw figured out and since then will drink milk from a sippy!
*The two big new changes are that we started ECFE and The Little Gym classes once a week each. Tuesday mornings, Maggie and I go to ECFE "The Little Explorers" class at the old Central School for 1.5 hours. We do lots of playing and singing, then the moms get together to discuss kid/parenting things while the kids continue to play. Maggie seems to love it and being with kids her own age! Then on Saturday mornings we (all 3 of us) go to The Little Gym in Burnsville. This class is only 45 minutes, but I think Maggie likes this one even better! Kids her own age, but also it's just one big play space! She instantly gets in the gym and runs! We learn lots of different types on skills including some tumbling!
*And lastly, Maggie is a dancing machine! She dances to anything and everything! Any type of music can be playing and she will dance--in the shopping cart at Target, in church or when asked to dance!
And here are the pictures from January:
At Underwater Adventures at Mall of America. Maggie loved the stingray tank because it went all the way to the floor and she could just stand and watch. But sometimes she wouldn't see a stingray swimming toward her from the side and she would startle once it was in front of her!
Putting together Maggie's Cozy Coupe--one of her favorite new toys to be zoomed around in! Can't wait for warmer weather and it can go outside!
Playing with her shopping cart from Grandma Wenthold
Maggie loves her babies!
Another mild January day so we took a walk to the park to go swinging
