So a quick summary of events so far...
We found out that I was pregnant on January 18th after a home pregnancy test. I got up early with Dave while he was getting ready for work and took the test. I came out of the bathroom kind of laughing and said well "maybe??" The line was very faint so we both decided that Dave would buy another test on his lunch break, come home and I'd try it again. Yet again, another faint line so I had to call a friend for advice. She said that I was most definitely pregnant! So I called to schedule a blood test for the next day at our clinic. Sure enough it came back positive!
About three weeks later we had our first ultrasound.
6 weeks and 6 days--we saw the "flutter" of a heartbeat--AMAZING! And hard to believe that I was finally pregnant!
I should mention here that the reason that we had an ultrasound so early is because we were going to an infertility clinic. After months of trying to get pregnant we sought some "help" and came to find out that I had endometriosis (I had absolutely no idea since I didn't have any symptoms at all)! Well, three months after surgical treatment and I was pregnant! (This is the VERY shortened version of everything that we have been through, but it sums up what you need to know.)
So right away we had to tell our immediate families of course--well, and because we were going to Mexico with my family and staying at an all-inclusive resort! When we came back we had another ultrasound.
9 weeks and 1 day--saw the heartbeat again and the baby kicked out a leg!
No bad morning sickness, just nauseousness and tiredness. By week 12 things were better though, except the tiredness which I'm told never really goes away!
We chose to do the Early Trimester Screen which includes and ultrasound and blood test. We got to see our baby in 3-D and would have had a prediction on the gender but of course our child did not cooperate (well, we know who the father is!!) ;o)

12 weeks 6 days--Saw our baby moving all over! He/She made it very difficult for the ultrasound tech to get their measurements! Everything came back normal with all of the tests. Later that day we met with our OB and heard the heartbeat for the first time--so cool! Heartrate was in the 150s.
I think that's a quick summary that brings us up-to-date with everything. Just waiting for the next appointment in 2 weeks. It's always reassuring to go in and hear the heartbeat just to know that everything is ok since I don't feel anything yet! And yes, we will be finding out the gender at the beginning of May--can't wait! No belly pictures yet because I've only worn maternity clothes once so far! There's a little belly there, but when you can go to work in sweats and change into scrubs you don't need much for maternity clothes! Yet, anyway!
Thank you for sharing your story! I look forward to reading more updates!! :)
