Where has the time gone?!?! Maggie is one month old today!! She doesn't even look like the same newborn anymore! But she was very nice to me for her one month birthday--she slept 6 hours last night!!! Yep, that's right, 6 hours of sleep for me from 12am to 6am! It was like heaven!
Like I said before, she has changed so much! She has lost most of her pretty black hair--from the top of her head anyway. It looks like she has a receding hairline! But you definitely can see the new hair coming in--it will just take awhile!
Maggie is growing out of her 0-3 month clothes already! She's so long that she doesn't fit into some of the sleepers with feet! Dave came home from work one day last week and said, "Look at her hands! They're huge!" Yes, her hands have definitely grown! She has some very long fingers. We're guessing they will be either playing the piano or basketball or maybe even both (like her mom)!
At about 3 weeks old, we moved Maggie from sleeping in her cradle at night in our room to sleeping in her crib. She makes some of the loudest squeaks and grunts when she sleeps (they are very cute though!)! Now I get better sleep and we know our baby monitors work!
This past week we've really been trying to give Maggie some "structure"--using that term loosely. We've been trying the "Babywise" system in which the baby eats, plays (waketime) and then sleeps (naptime). We haven't been following it very strictly yet, just trying to get her to do everything in the right order. She thinks she's an old girl and doesn't need to nap/sleep at all during the day!! Her mother totally disagrees with her! ;o) We have our good days and bad days--so far today is a great day!!
Maggie had her first babysitters last night. Yesterday was Dave's birthday so my mom, sister and brother-in-law came over to babysit Maggie while Dave and I went out to dinner for his birthday. We just went to The Wilds since it was nice and close and could get back if needed. The plan is to start bottles this weekend so we'll be able to be away or out-and-about for longer periods of time.
I think those are the major milestones of Maggie's first four weeks. She's definitely "talking" more, or at least she's found her voice, she loves to look around at everything (miss social butterfly, hence the reason, I think, she doesn't want to sleep! Afraid she is going to miss out on something!) and she loves, loves, loves to be talked to!
We are going to have one month photos taken today by my friend Alison so check back for more pictures soon!
Playtime!!
