Unofficially (according to our bathroom scale) Maggie is weighing in at about 18 pounds. She's still a good sleeper at night and only wakes once to eat. Usually she goes to bed between 8/8:30 and wakes to eat between 3:30 and 5, but goes right back to sleep for another couple hours. At the beginning of February Maggie decided to put herself on an every 4 hour eating schedule! She goes at least four hours between feedings! And mid-February we started some rice cereal. Not so much a hit with Maggie, as you'll see from the picture below, but we're working on it and today was her best ever! She actually finished what I prepared for her! It was probably only about 2 or 3 teaspoons, but hey, she ate it!
Maggie's still rolling from her back to her tummy, but has not quite figured out how to get back on to her back! She gets so frustrated--we're working on it though! She really likes to pull herself into a sitting position (with your help, of course) and then sometimes she'll even pull up to standing! She just loves to stand and look at everything around her. We've been practicing sitting with Maggie over the past few months. We use one of her toys to help her balance--we put it between her legs and then she rests her hands on it. Within the past week now she will sit on her own without any assistance!! She's still unsteady at times, but she'll sit for a few minutes on her own!
At the beginning of February Maggie had her first overnight in a hotel! We were in Rochester for Cousin Nolan's baptism and stayed over. Maggie did ok--I think she was thrown off being in her pack 'n play and in the same room with us! Ok, maybe I was thrown off by the second part--I could hear all of her little noises so I didn't get much sleep!
I think that sums up most things since my last post. She's just so much fun (if I haven't mentioned that already) :o) She's always talking or humming--lots of "Ahhhs" and "Mmmmms". Even in her sleep she hums sometimes! Also, a few times I've caught her with her knees tucked up under her when she's laying on her tummy--I know it's only a matter of time until we have a creeper! And I think she would spend all day in her Jump-a-roo if we let her! She just loves that thing! I have some fun videos of her that I hope to get posted this month so hopefully I get around to that. Also, we have her six month photos scheduled with my friend Alison so we are definitely looking forward to that!
